Malia Barreras-Float is an oil painter from the Big Island of Hawaii whose work is rooted in a lifelong love of drawing and observation. She completed a three-year diploma program in classical oil painting in Florence, Italy, following earlier studies in Ventura, California, where she worked towards an AA in Fine Arts. Now back on Hawaii Island, Malia is developing a new body of work inspired by the island's natural beauty, focusing on vibrant florals, nature and subjects that reflect the depth, color, and atmosphere of her home.
