Working construction years ago, Chad began saving wood from the landfill—hardwood flooring, teak shingles, and koa cutoffs. He made beds for his daughters from the scraps. And his creative bug awoke.

Now as a reclaimed wood artist, Chad Gray observes objects on this beautiful island and distills them to their essence through wood.

His Remembering Hawai‘i collection highlights local culture and nature. His intricately cut mosaics can be customized as gifts or memorials to loved ones.

“Enjoying the journey doesn't mean just the success and good times. It means learning from mistakes and sanded fingertips. It means looking at different ways to make it work and knowing that you can never have too many clamps.”
